How do I work

Mary Kelly Interiors - FeesMost clients try to pick my brain during our initial meetings and phone calls. I encourage it. It helps establish a rapport and comfort level in my professional ability. Once we have agreed to proceed the structure of the relationship is as follows:

Retainer:

Based on the size of the project, I will start with a retainer of $2,500 for multiple room renovations to $5,000 for complete houses in new construction or renovation.

This retainer is used to cover the costs of conceptual design, as well as working with the client to establish a budget for specified and fabricated items, as well as an estimated schedule for the duration of the project.

Once the conceptual design and budget have been approved, a fee will be established to produce the specifications and details to complete the work. This will be billed at $125/hour.

If the client agrees to proceed with the project, an administrative fee of 20% is applied.  This fee represents the costs of logistics, vendor communications, specification submittals and approvals, quality control and execution. Work performed through MKI’s fabrication vendors is performed based on bids or direct sourcing based on client approvals.

The administrative fees combined with the purchased materials invariably represent a 20% to 30% discount to the retail price for all work performed by MKI.
